Atoms 04:26
Atoms You’re standing on a plain, snow-covered, shivering with cold You said I’m yours We hold onto each other like fallen leaves on frozen ground With healing wounds Our faces stroked by the fall We’re freezing, we’re just small Atoms who blindly crawl Towards each other after all You’re standing on a plain, snow-covered, shivering with cold You said I’m yours Fear from loneliness and madness are the strongest bonds But now we’re found It feels like swimming under water or like praying to the sky One can’t do with open eyes Our faces stroked by the fall We’re freezing, we’re just small Atoms who blindly crawl Towards each other after all Look at these frozen bones on the sky We call them stars but that’s a lie

Wide Eyes 03:27
Wide Eyes A heavy burden of choice On my deepening mind My eyes are wide from both fear and from wonder I see my way but I’m lost In this straight labyrinth I’m drowning in paradox I’m drowning in paradox No more fear from the walk Through the dark forest of my mind This pressure of freedom And stone cold apathy I can’t see but I feel There are greater things than me But I’m sinking in apathy I’m sinking in apathy Meteors light my mind I peel layers of my thoughts
4.
Ocean 04:32
Ocean I’m not saying that I’m crying Just an ocean fell out of my eyes My hands are smoky firewalls Clasped for prayer In the mud I shed my faith in rags I’ll leave it there I’m not saying that I’m crying Just an ocean fell out of my eyes Gratitude is sand beneath my tongue I’m kelp between God’s toes I’m a dead fly on his dusty windowsill Burden of meaninglessness I’m not saying that I’m crying Just an ocean fell out of my eyes I’m a splinter in God’s numb palm

Psalmus 02:56
Psalmus The dark won’t wash out my skin It will hide my soul And hide all of my sins Look, here’s my heart it’s dead It’s my heart which once bled It’s my heart which once bled Give my dead heart to the one Whom I’ve hurt the most Whom I’ve hurt the most Well please, give my dead heart to God My dead heart to the Lord Whom I’ve hurt the most Against whom I fought But always lost Look, here’s my heart it’s dead It’s my heart which once bled It’s my heart which once bled

Aphelion 05:52
Aphelion A strange orbit I’m the furthest of the Sun that once so brightly lit My eyes are cold As I stare into the Sun It’s myself I behold Aphelion It’s been a long time since I’ve been me Aphelion Aphelion It’s been a long time since I’ve been me Aphelion I’m a paraphrase Of silence as I’m floating over nameless days With sanguine eyes And blue lips I lie on God’s chest I’m paralyzed If there’s such a thing A spiral of nothing Well, it pulls me down I could be a medium Of some ineffable drifting But I’m captured in vacuum I’m at the nadir now I try to move away from this feast But I don’t know how But if there’s such a thing A spiral of nothing Well, it pulls me down Aphelion It’s been a long time since I’ve been me Aphelion Aphelion It’s been a long time since I’ve been me Aphelion But if there’s such a thing A spiral of nothing Well, it pulls me down

Wolf Throats 03:29
Wolf Throats I'm a thought I run without feet I'm a thought I fly without wings Their hunched furs in shreds and they haven't been fed The wolf throats are red as they howl at me mad This upward falling breaks my bird bones I have nothing to atone for Can't you see that the conductor is dead? The orchestra's led by a score that's unread Their hunched furs in shreds and they haven't been fed The wolf throats are red as they howl at me mad
8.
Disguise 03:39
Disguise I’ll try to fly so high That you can find me if you want to I’m wearing your favourite clothes now so please look at me please look at me I am not planning to go now so please talk to me and I will tell you This is just a disguise I’ve always lived inside I am full of yellowness ’cause I was never enough We should go into the mountains and have a log house near the forest We should count every trees there and be together walking among them This is just a disguise I’ve always lived inside I am full of yellowness ’cause I was never enough
9.
Litmus Heart 03:25
Litmus Heart Love’s just stumbling between colours that can be brighter that can be darker It was your voice which framed the silence I was speechless I had no answers How do I feel in this replaced world? My litmus heart bleeds In your sour words An exile into the silence written on ancient sherds An exile behind the meaning of the words These words unspoken sleep beneath my tongue That there's always some madness in love Pointless movement kills the moment Two shaking souls In the existence It was your face which confessed silence The only thing that Held us together An exile into the silence written on ancient sherds An exile behind the meaning of the words These words unspoken sleep beneath my tongue That there's always some madness in love My words are stumbling rope-dancers On a cord between our hearts An exile into the silence written on ancient sherds An exile behind the meaning of the words These words unspoken sleep beneath my tongue That there's always some madness in love

Bitter Steps 02:53
Bitter Steps This is why I learned to walk For these belated bitter steps Your last words still throb in my throat A lingering move in the cracks Time weighs heavier in the dark Upon my mind than in the light Stars are bruises on the sky The dawn bites the pupil-dark night I bear the wounds of all the fights I avoided in the past I bear the wounds of all the fights I avoided in the past

about

This album is about searching for our innermost selves, and also about questioning everything. The title, ‘Atoms’, refers to the idea that just like us, each song on this album is an individual shivering atom on its own.

Throughout these songs, there is a sense of falling - either towards ourselves or away. Catharsis is a key element of the album, something one experiences when approaching the inner self, the core. We encountered this experience during the past two years while writing this LP. We have no idea where these songs emerged from, but we are seeking to find their place of origin.

The album also reflects a sort of emptiness, and focuses on states of abandonment, and the sense of floating. It resolves an anxiety stemming from questioning former values, a never-ending grappling with transcendent beings.

If one dives too deep, one collapses. If one flies too high, one runs out of air. We walk on this Earth together, carrying our heavy bodies. ‘Atoms’ is a 40 minute pause within this.
